Lile International Companies was founded in 1959 when Wendell B. Lile purchased the assets of a small household goods moving and storage company in Tacoma, Washington. Since establishment, Lile has grown significantly in terms of operating locations, revenues, and market mix, yet it remains committed to the founding principle of providing claim-free, reliably-delivered, customer-focused moving and storage services to our expanding customer base.

Currently owned and managed by second generation family members, Lile International Companies is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as a 100% Women-Owned Business with branch locations in Seattle (Kent), Tacoma, Spokane, Vancouver, Bremerton, and Longview, Washington and Portland (Tualatin), Salem and Eugene, Oregon. The company’s scope of service has changed from one exclusively focused on local, intrastate, interstate and international household goods storage and relocation to the provision of total transportation services for individual, commercial and government shippers. Presently the company is composed of the following four divisions:

Lile Relocation Services

The foundation of Lile International Companies, this division is a major factor in the northwest household and business relocation markets, providing residential, corporate, commercial and government moving and storage services. Since 1974, the division has represented NorthAmerican Van Lines ranking among its’ top U.S. agents in terms of volume and quality performance. For the last two years, Lile NorthAmerican has received the van line’s Quality Excellence Award and has been named its’ top booker of military business.

Lile Warehousing & Distribution Services

Lile’s commercial warehousing & distribution division specializes in the warehousing, handling and distribution of general merchandise and sensitive and valued commodities. Since 1972 Lile Warehousing & Distribution Services has been a major provider of delivery and removal services throughout the state of Washington, Oregon and California for companies such as NorthAmerican Van Lines, Tech Trans, Ikon and IBM. In addition to offering more than 750,000 square feet of storage space, the division offers value to its customers by arranging for transportation and warehousing services anytime and anyplace in the world, reliably meeting service commitments, efficiently handling and maintaining product inventories, eliminating the need for extensive protective packaging for sensitive products and promoting satisfaction amongst our customer’s customers.

Lile Logistics Services

Using advanced technologies, Lile Logistics Services has established an easy-to-use system that is designed to provide large volume pricing to the low volume small business. The division has, with its significant buying power, negotiated comprehensive agreements with air and surface transportation carriers of virtually all commodities in order to provide its customers with a complete package of transportation services offered at competitive rates. Some of the technologies currently in use by this division include Internet marketing at http://www.youmoveit.com, e-mail, an interactive international rate quote system available on the Internet, EDI, secure credit card transactions, order entry and shipment tracking on-line, and a tariff engine pricing system for serving the division’s customers.

American Movers

Established in 1982, this division exclusively handles interstate and international personal property relocations for our federal government. In 2003, this division coordinated the relocation of more than 11 million pounds of household goods with linehaul revenues of nearly six million dollars. The division’s combination of financial stability, past experience, established agency network and professional staff, along with an historical and focused mission to serve and satisfy the needs of government shippers, makes it well suited to handle military traffic under continuously revised guidelines and traffic patterns implemented by the US Department of Defense.
